BIP requires you to enable foldering in your camera for optimal image organization and processing.
Camera foldering creates separate folders on your memory card for each group of images. This is essential for BIP's workflow because:
Watch this quick tutorial showing how to enable foldering on your camera:
A drawsheet is a CSV file containing participant information that BIP uses to automatically organize and name your images.
Watch this comprehensive tutorial on creating and using drawsheets:
Reference | Back | Horse | Day | Class | Show |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | 045 | Thunder | Saturday | Jumpers | Spring Classic |
2 | 123 | Bella | Saturday | Jumpers | Spring Classic |
3 | 087 | Spirit | Saturday | Dressage | Spring Classic |
Create your columns based on the information you need in folders and filenames
Start with 1 and increment for each row (1, 2, 3, 4...)
Add all relevant data for each participant/entry
File > Save As > Choose "CSV (Comma delimited)" format
Load the CSV file in BIP to configure your folder and file naming structure
Use your drawsheet to configure how BIP organizes images into folders and names your files.
After loading your drawsheet CSV, BIP opens a 3-step wizard to configure:
Select which columns from your drawsheet should become folders, and in what order:
Show
, Class
, Day
, Back+Horse
, BIP creates:[Output Folder]/Show/Class/Day/Back+Horse/[generated filename].jpg
As you add columns, the "FOLDER EXPRESSION" shows your folder structure:
Show,Class,Day,Back+Horse
And an "EXAMPLE" shows what the actual folder path will look like:
[Output Folder]/Show/Class/Day/Back_Horse
Configure how your filenames will be structured by selecting which drawsheet columns to include:
Back
, Horse
, Day
, Class
, Show
creates:Back_Horse_Day_Class_Show_[camera filename].jpg
The "FILENAME EXPRESSION" shows your naming pattern:
Back_Horse_Day_Class_Show
The "EXAMPLE" shows what actual filenames will look like:
Example filename: Back_Horse_Day_Class_Show_[camera filename.jpg
What are Sets? Sets group your ingests into "upload sets" to allow uploading in multiple batches to your gallery host.
Check this box to activate set functionality.
This tells BIP how many folders from the last folder in your folder tree to create an optional "set folder".
Examples:[event, day, rider]
with depth 1
[event, day, rider, horse]
with depth 2
